Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about SEOCheckr, SEO audit and AI visibility.

General

What is SEOCheckr?

SEOCheckr is a French SEO analysis and AI visibility (GEO) platform. Our tool audits your website on more than 60 technical criteria: metadata (title, description), Hn tag structure, performance via Core Web Vitals (LCP, FCP, CLS, INP), HTTPS security and headers, accessibility, robots.txt and sitemap.xml. What sets us apart: visibility analysis on AI engines like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini. We check if these AIs recommend your brand and give you concrete recommendations to improve your presence. SEOCheckr offers 7 free tools (Schema validator, robots.txt generator, llms.txt analyzer) and paid plans for professionals. Hosted in France, GDPR compliant, with French support.

Is the analysis really free?

Yes! You can analyze 3 URLs per day for free, without registration. Paid plans unlock unlimited analyses, historical tracking, PDF reports and advanced recommendations.

What sites can I analyze?

You can analyze any public URL accessible on the Internet. It's ideal for analyzing your own sites, but also for benchmarking your competitors.

SEO Audit

What criteria are analyzed in the SEO audit?

Our audit analyzes 60+ criteria across categories: meta-title and description, Hn tags, images (alt, size, format), performance (LCP, FCP, CLS, TTFB), security (HTTPS, headers), accessibility, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, JSON-LD structured data and more.

How is the SEO score calculated?

The score is a weighted average of different categories. Critical criteria like HTTPS, title and speed carry more weight. A score > 80 is considered excellent, 50-80 is average, and < 50 requires urgent improvements.

How often should I audit my site?

We recommend an audit after each major update to your site. For optimal tracking, a monthly audit helps detect regressions and track your improvements over time.

Is the Core Web Vitals data real?

Yes, SEOCheckr measures real Google Core Web Vitals. We analyze four key metrics: LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) which should be under 2.5 seconds for a good score, FCP (First Contentful Paint) ideally under 1.8 seconds, CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) which should stay under 0.1, and INP (Interaction to Next Paint) which replaced FID in March 2024 and should be under 200ms. When available, we use field data from Google Chrome UX Report (CrUX) which reflects the real user experience. For sites without sufficient CrUX data, we perform real-time synthetic measurements. Core Web Vitals have been a Google ranking factor since 2021. More info at web.dev/vitals (official Google documentation).

AI Visibility (GEO)

What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is optimization for AI search engines like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini. Unlike traditional SEO that targets Google and its organic results, GEO aims to get your brand mentioned and recommended in responses generated by these artificial intelligences. GEO techniques include: creating an llms.txt file describing your business (see llmstxt.org), adding complete JSON-LD structured data compliant with schema.org, getting citations on authoritative sources (Wikipedia, press), creating easily citable educational content, and correctly configuring robots.txt to allow AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot). GEO is becoming crucial as more users get their answers directly from AI without visiting Google.

How does AI visibility analysis work?

Our tool queries multiple AI models with varied prompts related to your industry. We analyze if and how your brand is mentioned, the context of mentions, the sentiment (positive/negative/neutral) and identify your most visible competitors.

What is the llms.txt file?

The llms.txt file is an emerging standard (official specification at llmstxt.org) for communicating with language models and AI. Placed at the root of your website (/llms.txt or /.well-known/llms.txt), it describes your business, services, key pages and usage permissions in a text format optimized for LLMs. It's the equivalent of robots.txt but for artificial intelligences. A good llms.txt file contains: a description of your activity, a list of important pages to index, authorized use cases (citations, recommendations), any restrictions, and your contact information. SEOCheckr offers a free llms.txt generator and automatically checks its presence during AI visibility analysis.

What AI models do you test?

We currently test on Llama 3.3 70B, Llama 3.1 8B and other models via the Groq API. We simulate queries similar to those from ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity to evaluate your visibility.

How can I improve my AI visibility?

Several strategies: create an optimized llms.txt file, add complete JSON-LD structured data, get mentions on high-authority sites (Wikipedia, press), create quality educational content, and don't block AI crawlers in your robots.txt.

Security & Privacy

Is my data secure?

Absolutely. We only store analyzed URLs and audit results. No sensitive data from your site is stored. Our servers are hosted in France and we are GDPR compliant.

Do you access my site's content?

We only analyze the public content of your site, as any visitor or search engine would. We don't have access to your protected areas, databases or back-office.

How can I delete my data?

You can delete your analysis history from your dashboard. To completely delete your account and all your data, contact us via the contact form or at privacy@seocheckr.io.

Technical & API

Do you offer an API?

Yes, our REST API is available from the Growth plan. It allows you to integrate SEO audits and AI analyses into your own tools, dashboards or automated workflows.

Can I export my reports?

Yes, paid plans allow you to export your audits in PDF format with your logo. Raw data can also be exported in JSON via the API.

How does structured data analysis work?

We detect and validate all JSON-LD schemas present on your page: Organization, WebSite, Product, Article, FAQ, HowTo, BreadcrumbList, etc. We check their compliance with the official schema.org vocabulary and report errors. To manually test your structured data, you can also use the official Google Rich Results Test (search.google.com/test/rich-results).

Multi-Sites & Agencies

How does multi-site management work?

The multi-site feature allows agencies and businesses to manage multiple websites from a single dashboard. You can add up to 25 sites (Enterprise plan), quickly switch between them, and see the SEO and AI visibility scores for each site at a glance. Each site maintains its own audit history and alerts.

How many sites can I manage depending on my plan?

The number of sites depends on your plan: Free = 1 site, Basic = 3 sites, Pro = 5 sites, Enterprise = 25 sites. You can upgrade at any time to manage more sites.

Can I assign sites to different clients?

Yes! With the Enterprise plan and White Label feature, you can create client accounts with limited access to the sites that concern them. Each client only sees their own sites and data.

Are audits shared between sites?

No, each site has its own audit history, alerts and scores. This allows you to have a clear view of each site's performance individually.

Alerts & Monitoring

What types of alerts can I configure?

SEOCheckr offers several types of alerts: SEO score drop below a threshold, AI visibility drop, site unavailable (HTTP error), expiring SSL certificate, Core Web Vitals degradation (LCP, CLS, INP), and indexation changes. You define the thresholds and conditions for each alert.

Through which channels can I receive alerts?

Alerts can be sent via email, Slack, Discord or custom webhook. You can configure multiple channels per alert and set quiet hours to not be disturbed at night.

What is the alert digest?

Instead of receiving each alert instantly, you can opt for a daily or weekly digest that groups all alerts from the period. Ideal for not being overwhelmed with notifications while staying informed.

How many alerts can I create?

The number of alerts depends on your plan: Free = 2 alerts, Basic = 5 alerts, Pro = 15 alerts, Enterprise = 100 alerts. Each alert can monitor a specific criterion with its own conditions.

White Label

What is White Label?

White Label allows agencies to fully customize SEOCheckr with their own brand. You can change the logo, colors, typography, and even use your own domain (e.g., seo.myagency.com). Your clients see your brand, not SEOCheckr.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes! With the Enterprise plan, you can configure up to 5 custom domains. You can use a subdomain (myagency.seocheckr.io) or your own domain (seo.myagency.com). We automatically manage the SSL certificate.

How does client management work?

You can create up to 50 client accounts with different access levels: Reader (view reports), Editor (run audits), or Admin (full access). Each client receives an email invitation and only sees the sites assigned to them.

Is White Label available on all plans?

No, White Label is exclusively available on the Enterprise plan. It includes full customization (logo, colors, domain), management of 50 clients, and the ability to hide the 'Powered by SEOCheckr' mention.

Are PDF reports also customized?

Yes! PDF reports generated for your clients use your logo, colors and company name. You can also customize the header and footer text of the reports.
